Hulk Hogan Wrestled His Last Match In TNA Over A Decade Ago

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has long been retired, although he has teased return matches ever since he returned to WWE in 2014.

At WrestleMania 30, he seemed to tease a match with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin. While it was a dream match going back to WrestleMania X8, Hulk Hogan vs Stone Cold Steve Austin never materialised.

Shane McMahon also challenged him to a match at WrestleMania 39. He turned down the match, was probably the right call, given how badly Shane’s match at WrestleMania this year went.

Many people thought that Hulk Hogan’s last match was against Randy Orton in 2006. The pair faced off at Summerslam 2006, during Hogan’s last run as a full-time wrestler.

Randy Orton was performing his “legend killer” gimmick at the time. It was a shock when he was beaten by Hulk Hogan in the match, although knowing Hogan, it’s not a shock at all.

Hulk Hogan was expected to return to WWE after that, however. Rumours of Hulk Hogan vs John Cena at WrestleMania 23 were rife. According to Hogan, the match was close to being finalised.

He also teased a match with The Great Khali, attacking the Indian Giant during Monday Night Raw’s 15th Anniversary episode.

Obviously, that match never happened, and and Hogan never wrestled an official match for WWE ever again. However, his career did not end their, as he made his TNA debut in January 2010 to continue his career.

Hogan did not wrestle full-time in TNA, but did have his last few matches in the promotions, against old foes and brand-new opponents, albeit to mixed reactions from TNA fans.

Hulk Hogan’s Last Match Took Place In The UK For TNA

Hulk Hogan’s last match took place on a TNA show in London, England on February 21, 2013.

The WWE Hall of Famer teamed with former rival Sting and TNA star Bully Ray to take on the team of Aces & Eights Members D.O.C, Devon, and Mr Anderson.

Hulk Hogan took very little part in the match. The legendary wrestler was 58 at the time of the match, and in awful shape.

He had a number of back, neck and hip surgeries and his mobility was very poor. Nearly 4 decades of hitting his atomic leg drop had taken its toll on his body. The WWE legend he had no place wrestling inside the ring at his age.

He was kidnapped and beaten down before the match began. Hogan played no part in the in ring action at all, and played almost zero part in his last match.

It would hard to call it his last match at all, considering how little part he took. But the record books show Hulk Hogan as being part of this match, so we will accept it as such.

Hulk Hogan Was Rumoured To Wrestle Ric Flair At His Last Match

While his last match was in TNA in 2013, there were rumblings about Hulk Hogan coming out of retirement in 2022.

There were rumours that Hogan was to be the opponent for Ric Flair’s last match in July 2022, as part of the Starrcast event of the same name.

However, it doesn’t look like the wrestling legend will ever set foot in the wrestling ring again. Hulk Hogan has confirmed that he has had his last match, and he isn’t able to wrestle anymore.

The former WWE Champion spoke to the Two Man Power Trip Podcast to confirm that after numerous back surgeries, he has no chance of coming back to the ring for a final farewell in front of his screaming Hulkamaniacs.

When asked about wrestling, one more match, Hulk Hogan said;

“No, no, no, no, no. In the last 10 years, I’ve had 23 surgeries, 10 back surgeries, both hips, both knees — forget it.” Hulk Hogan told the hosts.

However, he did reveal that if he were healthy, he’d love to step into the ring one more time with Brock Lesnar. He last wrestled “The Beast” in 2002, and would like to have a rematch against him if he could.

Knowing Hulk Hogan, he just wants his win back from Lesnar.

Hogan lost their only match due to referee stoppage, after Lesnar locked him in an unbreakable bear hug. As well as a rematch with Lesnar, he also wants a match against Roman Reigns.

“If I was healthy, shoot — yeah, man, all day long. The first one I’m trying to pick off would be Roman [Reigns], then I’d like to get to Brock [Lesnar], but good God, I’d be in a wheelchair by the time I get done with that.”

With his poor health and recent controversies, it’s probably for the best that we don’t see Hulk Hogan wrestle again. His last match was bad enough, and that was over a decade ago. His career is well and truly over.
