Scott Hall is one of the most famous wrestlers of all time, being a star in both WWE and WCW during the peak years of professional wrestling.
Over 10 million people tuned in weekly when he was on top as part of the New World Order alongside best friends Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan.
He wrestled everyone who is anyone in the wrestling industry, although he never appeared in the Royal Rumble match.
However, Scott Hall’s final match in wrestling was against one of the stars in AEW in a match that nobody ever expected to see.
While the last most people saw of him was at WrestleMania 31 for Sting’s WWE debut, Scott Hall wrestled his last match one year later on the indies.
I still can’t quite believe it happened in the first place, or that he actually won a championship during his last wrestling match.
Scott Hall’s Last Match Was Against Chuck Taylor In 2016
Scott Hall’s last match was against Chuck Taylor at WRESTLEPALOOZA in 2016. The match was a short one and was one that some may not consider a “real match”, but it’s in the record books, and it made Scott Hall a champion for the final time in his career.
The bout came when the former NWO member interrupted the Wrestlepalooza bout between Joey Ryan and Chuck Taylor.
Joey Ryan was the reigning DDT Pro IronMan HeavyMetalWeight Champion at the time, a hardcore title-style belt with some of the most hilarious champions of all time. The title can be won anytime, anywhere and by anyone – including inanimate objects.
In the past, a wide variety of wrestlers have won the championship. The nature of it gives the chance for legends, like Scott Hall, to pick up a singular reign at the end of the year. Other winners of the title include a ladder, a chair and the championship belt itself.
It is a comedy championship that does not take itself seriously, and it’s just a bit of fun for the wrestlers and the audience watching.
He was about to win the match until Scott Hall challenged him to a game of rock, paper, scissors. The winner of the contest would get the chance to pin Taylor and take home to title.
Scott Hall interrupted the match between Ryan and Taylor just as Joey Ryan hit The Kentucky Gentleman with a devastating superkick.
After a tense game, Scott Hall outsmarted Joey Ryan and pinned Chuck Taylor with one foot to win the IronMan HeavyMetalWeight Champion for the first and last time in his career.
This would also be Scott Hall’s last wrestling of his career, as he stayed outside of the ring until his untimely death in 2022.
Scott Hall lost the DDT Pro IronMan HeavyMetalWeight Championship later that day, but not in an official match.
Colt Cabana won the title by forfeit after tricking Scott Hall into saying “I give up” off a sheet of paper, winning the match by a technicality – something that is entirely in the spirit of the DDT IronMan HeavyMetalWeight Champonship.
